Of lists and things

November 12, 2009

I don’t blackberry or i-Phone.

I make old fashioned lists in ink.

Often on my hand.

Things I need to remember to do, deliver or prepare. They seem important at the time I write them down.

But by the end of the day, after bathtime, bubbles, shampoo, soap and suds, horseplay, diapers, dishes and jammies, it’s hard to see what I wrote.

Let alone remember.

Because it’s faded under all the fullness of being part of this family.

And only two things remain. And I sure don’t need any list to remind me of them.

Halloween 021 Fall 2009 001

I’ve got the milk stains on my carpet to do that.

I’m so happy to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t use a blackberry or iphone :) I am a firm believer in actual handwriting.
Your kiddos are too cute, especially the last picture!

Shhh, I’m scared of blackberries and iphones – don’t tell anyone.

This was too funny because my husband wants to buy me an iPhone because there are so many lists everywhere…I think it drives him a little bonkers. I don’t really want one though, well, secretly I do, but I don’t want to get into a habit of relying on technology because of the growing expense of it and the stress that comes along with that. Not the stress on me, but the financial burden on my husband. Cute post, hit the nail on the head for many of us, clearly. Blessings, Brooke

i-phones sure are pretty, I agree. The pink ones look like yummy candy. I am sure it would take mere seconds for my boys to destroy it.

Your boys are just so cute! Makes me hope to have another boy so they can grow up really close friends (and I’m sure occasional fist fighting enemies, ha).

You got that right – it’s either passionate friendship or passionate war. There is no middle ground with boys!

Excellent pics of the boys!

I’ve moved on from hand-lists (which used to be my addiction) to keeping a little notebook in my purse. It was supposed to be for writing ideas and stories, but usually just holds lists of things to get at Wal-Mart or my To-Do list.

I have an iPhone and still don’t remember anything! I don’t use the calendar or the task list and I haven’t downloaded any cool apps…unless you count the games I downloaded for my girls. I…well…I talk on it and that’s about all. :)

Your boys are so cute!

But you get to do the cool slidey thing with your finger to unlock it – that has always fascinated me. ;)

Okay…that made me laugh out loud. Yes…I totally rock the cool slidey thing.

I like making lists, too. In pen. And actually, when I’m re-writing my master to-do list, if I make a mistake or write something out of order, I will throw that list away and start over. Because I have a sickness.

And oh yes, your kids are stinking adorable. :)

Thank-you, I shamelessly agree.

(Also, I am a compulsively neat list maker as well. Unless, of course, it’s on my hand – then I’m just looking for a pen that will write)

Came over from PW where your comment thanked her for remember the little blogs, like mine. Ree is kind and down to earth and just an all around great person that does think of others.

Oh, my husband writes notes on his hand to remember things so now my boys think they can do their schoolwork on their hands.

Thanks for stopping by! Yea, I am constantly amazed by her ability to put faces to names to blogs to pictures in the midst of her writing and cooking and cattle wrangler and homeschooling. It’s the gold standard of blogging ;)

Pretty soon you’ll have more mud stains than milk stains, although I’m sure a few of those mud stains exist now.

Since I know what my post on the contents of my car did to you, I will spare you the details of my poor, abused carpet and simply say, “Uh, yes, I expect so.”
