Girlfriends

Discovering you, discovering this online space, discovering your stories, your hearts, your laughter – well, it was a lot like coming home. And for this travel weary girl who dreams of white picket fences and stability, that is something special.

You.  You are the special.

To me, you are deep-fried, delicious friendship sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. You are tight, tight hugs in the wee hours and double helpings of ice-cream topped with bursting red strawberries. You are understanding and acceptance and a warm blanket on a cold night.

You are the snuggie of friendships.

And you should keep reading over at (in)courage today where I am sharing how amazing I think you all are and am giving away a $100 gift certificate. Yup, you are and I am!

See you over there!

We spent the day with another couple yesterday, they had invited us over for brunch and then we played dominos. She sent a thank you for the wonderful time they had with us and for our friendship.

After sending out a note to help me pray because I having a really bad day and nothing was going right! I received a text from a special friend and it simply said the following, I can’t be there, but here is a big bear hug from me to you to help you through the day. Remember God loves you and so do I….. That little lift, made my day seem so much easier to bear….. Just as your articles do every day! Thanks for ministering to me…..

My husband and I are discovering what true community is. It’s something we are realizing more and more that we need. I think just knowing we have some sort of community, people who will reach out and give us hugs and truly pray for us, has been my recent blessing. So much is unsure in this world, and so God has provided us people who will help us to ride out the storm.

I hadn’t seen her in 26 yrs. This dear friend found me thru the internet. I had often thought of her, and even tried to find her myself……but to no avail.
She isn’t just any friend…….Thru gentleness and persistance she led me to Jesus at the tender age of 16. We finally were able to visit face to face, it was just as if we had never parted. Thru laughter and tears She said ” I use to teach you, and now you are teaching me…….my how you have grown “.

A friend said to me the other day… “when you start to sing, doves fly out of your mouth!” I thought that was about the sweetest compliment I’ve ever been given. =)

Peace & Abundance, Cid

I have been living here in Belgium for three years, serving both GOD and Country. It was impossible to fly back to America and I had become homesick and missed my dear family and friends terribly.
Wow, what a huge surprise when my precious sister called to ask me if I would like to meet her in Morocco to serve the LORD for 8 days in October. That was the cake, but the icing is that she will fly back with me to Belgium and stay a few months.
GOD saw my lonely and desperate heart and blessed me beyond anything I could have ever imagined!

Beautiful post. I have learned to spend more time with friends especially when I am so busy and tempted to say no to invitations for get togethers. Ii have found that it is then that I need that companionship most and it gives me the energy and encouragement I need.
Thanks for being so inspiring!
