Once a sweet tooth, always a sweet tooth

in Marriage

Dark chocolate nights
are my favorite.
They taste of deep kisses

and full moons
swirled in mellow summer
breezes
that melt in the mouth.

Cotton candy air
wafts between us
and I lean
willow-like
toward you,

a sea of
strawberry emotions
cupped in your
strong hands.

~Lisa-Jo circa 1998

Because when this, our third, growing baby kicks and somersaults in my stomach I remember the me that fell in love with you. It was a sophomore summer and a cherry blossom romance.

And we’ve travelled long miles since then.

But still.

You are my favorite kind of favorite.

I love the tree picture!!! I’m obsessed with pictures of trees, and that is just beautiful. I see so much of God’s beauty in the trees.

Lisa-Jo, when you write “the me that fell in love with you,” it gets caught in my throat, makes me want to cry a little. Isn’t it funny how much we change but how much, too, the me that fell in love looks through those same old eyes and wants to turn inside out. Seth and I still have toe-curling love. We have a more mature love now, too, that’s even better than the original love. Sounds like you know about that good love. It’s rare. It’s a blessing. I love that you wrote it out here.

I love it. Thinking of you. Awwww…. I miss the kicking of the babies…

My son (7) played with a baby while we were camping this week and he said to me “I want a baby like that.” I know that season of my life is over but I miss it at times.

I am good… just remembering.

Love to you,
HUGS
