Hello
I picked up your blog when I googedhomesick South Africa because that is how I am feeling at the momet after nearly six years in theUK without one visit home. All of a sudden I feel homesick to my very soul and you have inspired me to start planning a trip home.
Thank you for sharing your experiences

So, I have already un-lurked here and you were beyond gracious with your response. But sometimes you just have to visit again to let someone know that something they said (or in this case wrote) made an immediate difference in a wonderful way. I think I told you before that I especially appreciated your encouragement to just keep writing. Even when your efforts seem so small. Your post earlier this week, about when your blog or your life feels small could not have come at a better time. I was feeling as though my well of words that never seems to empty was finally running dry. And I can't even articulate how scary that was for me. Your post inspired and encouraged me to try it again. Today I wrote something that, for once, seemed just right. It was the first time the words bled onto the page both from the deepest recesses and in the most rhythmic rivulets. And, although I know this may be the height of presumption, I wanted to say thank you and to share the results of your encouragement. So, here's the post: http://sunshinesentiments.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-laundry-says-i-love-you.html. And here's the heart felt - the thank you from one small mom who finally feels like she said it right.

Smiling -

I have popped in and out of your blog, first seeing it through my friend Jana @ Grace For My Mess, and every time I drop by, I am blessed. Thanks for the treasure trove of words that you share ... I look forward to "de-lurking" and visiting with you more.

Now perhaps I shall finally go about that 5 Minute Friday idea that attracts me so - even though it's Saturday! :-)

Vivid to me means the clean white snow that fell during the night. It also is the clean white sand that I will see every day for the next month as I have the opportunity to live very close to the ocean. It will also be the sunsets that are magnificent over the ocean every evening...the glorious handiwork of God. It is easy to see life as a fuzzy kind of overview....we need to really check carefully to see the vivid details that we can over look. This morning it was the red cardinal that stood out among the sparrows eating at the feeder. The vivid yellows of the promise of spring.

My name is Tammy and I don't even know how I stumbled upon you, but I committed to doing the Five Minute Friday writing challenge, posted only my second one last Friday. It's helping me stay focused on just writing bits at a time with no pressure. One of my hopes for this year was to write more and do more art. Born and raised in Philadelphia, still a hardcore East Coaster currently exiled in Chicago with my husband, Mike and daughter, Phoenix. I'm a Christian still trying to find myself at home in the church, trying to make sense of a life that just keeps going wrong, trying to build community into family.
